BFRB's and Workshops
I have specific professional and lived experience of chronic hair-pulling (trichotillomania) and skin-picking (dermatillomania), also known as Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs), which commonly overlap with Autism and/or ADHD, OCD, depression and anxiety. I view BFRBs as embodied, adaptive and nuanced parts that want to be seen and heard. One in twenty people live with a BFRB, and yet little is known about them within the mental health professions.
My approach to working with clients who have BFRBs is person-centred, curious and compassionate. I will walk alongside you, rejecting a one-size-fits-all approach, to help you find your own inner map towards recovery.
I recently presented a poster on my BFRB research at Oxford University and am currently creating a BFRB workshop for parents/carers, counsellors, and mental health professionals, in person or online.

Research & advocacy
I will be presenting my research on a compassionate approach to hair-pulling at the upcoming BFRB conference at Oxford University this October (www.bfrbcon.org), and I'm working towards publishing my work.
